| Chronology of Development |
In 2004, development of a first prototype of "intelligent" communicating scale. In 2007, development of a second prototype with the whole communication system. This scale is used as a normal scale (for weigth measurement) but also provides the same information as a force-plate concerning trajectory of the center of pressure. It has been designed to be used at home. Data are automatically transmitted through a cell phone towards a server for analysis of static and dynamic equilibrium. Fifty devices should be available this autumn (2008) for validation in various research and clinical settings on frailty people (particularly elderly people).

| Description |
Scale with 4 sensors able to measure the vertical components of ground reaction force.
| Purpose/Use |
From force components, several parameters are computed yielding a description of the subject static and dynamic balance. This scale has been designed for home use. A manual is expected to become available by the begining of 2009.
