Refer to Restrictions Below

| Monitoring and Safety Measures |
| Monitoring and Safety: Additional Information |
The patient is fitted with a wireless heart monitor.
| Assistance Permitted |
Canes and walkers are allowed if needed.
| Restrictions |
Patient must not let muscle pain exceed BORG level 4. This prevents contracture and together with the HR highlights a second wind at 7 minutes.
| Instructions |
The test can be conducted in a corridor with 20m shuttles (pre measured). The patient is asked to walk as fast as they can in 12 minutes, but they must not let muscle pain exceed BORG level 4.

| Results |
The total walking distance is the final outcome measure. Patients who walk > 800m are normal, 500-800m mild impairment, < 500m the patient is likely to have severe impairment in ADLs (activities of daily living). BORG RPP scale and heart rate are measured each minute.
